FINDING STRENGTH IN IMPERFECTION

INSTRUCTION

Follow the 10 easy steps below to
make a perfectly imperfect:

STEP I – PREPARATION

Sand away the sharp edges on both sides of all the pieces with sandpaper. But beware, we need to keep the rougher surface to give the Bio-glue a better grip.

STEP II - ARRANGE PIECES

Pair text with an image to focus on your chosen product, collection, or blog post. Add details on availability, style, or even provide a review.

STEP III – MENDING

Open the syringe, gently press the fader, squeeze out the glue on the decomposable mixing cap (make sure that the extrusion amount of the independent AB components is the same), take an appropriate amount of gold powder and mix well with the glue. Before putting the cap back on, wipe off excess glue and clean the nozzle of the syringe.

LOVEKINTSUGI TIPS:

• The thoroughly mixed mixture hardens within 4-
6 minutes, so each operation should not exceed
this time.
• Too much toner can make t he mixture too dry
and reduce the bond strength.

STEP IV

Using only a mixing stick instead of a brush, apply a thin, uniform layer of Bio-glue mixture on one side of the crack.

STEP V

Wait 30 seconds so that the Bio-glue can adhere well to the rough cracked surface and gently press the two parts together. Hold on for about 4 minutes until the glue is dry but still sticky.

STEP VI

Now use a brush to lightly apply a layer of gold dust over the still-sticky Bio-glue mixture for a more realistic golden finish.
Repeating the above method, each piece of bonding requires remixing the Bio-glue and gold powder.

STEP VI

When there are pieces that cannot be found or cannot be sticky, cut a small piece of epoxy putty and knead it well so that the two components are fully mixed and turn gray.

STEP VIII

Repeatedly compare the size of the missing part, take an appropriate amount of gray mixture and fill. After 30 minutes, you can add a thin layer of Bio-glue mixture so that the entire paste is covered. Then apply gold dust with a brush to add a golden effect.

LOVEKINTSUGI TIPS:

Once fully kneaded, the gray mixture dries out within 10 mins.

STEP IX – CLEANING

Once your broken object is fully repaired you can use the wood chisel to remove spillage, residue, or undesired lines.

STEP X

After 5-6 hours, you can carefully clean the object with a soft sponge and soapy water. Bio-glue will fully harden after 48 hours and is now food-safe and dishwasher-proof.

Important info & safety

  • - Make sure to wear the biodegradable gloves we provide and protect your workbench.
    - Children must always be under adult supervision to use the LOVEKINTSUG kit.
    - Do not use at temperatures below 10℃ and store in a dry, cool and frost-free place.
    - Shelf life: Bio-glue and epoxy putty can be stored for 6 months at a suitable environment after opening.
    - In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
    - Do not swallow any product in this kit. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

    LOVEKINTSUGI Bio Resin
    A bio-2-component epoxy resin extracted from cashew nuts, transparent, quick-drying, high quality, can be used for waterproof bonding of wood, metal, ceramics, glass, concrete and gemstones.
    Caution, may contain fine nut particles.

  • Epoxy putty
    A fast drying, super strong 2 components knead mass. Used to fill up the missing part.
    Premium mica powder
    All mica powders are premium cosmetic grade mica. Do not inhale. Provide adequate ventilation. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid eye & skin contact. In case of contact with eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
